A 276-home 55+ section

Classic single-story High Point living, with added lake and outdoor recreation.

High Point Section 2 has 276 residences in 69 buildings, built in 1971. Every building was originally designed with two one-bedroom and two two-bedroom homes, creating the private-entry, low-density layout that gives High Point its villa-like character.

Section 2 stands out for the combination of a lakeside clubhouse, heated and cooled pool, bocce court, shuffleboard, and lake dock.

At a glance

A lake-oriented High Point section with both indoor and outdoor social space.

Homes

One- and two-bedroom residences, plus corner, interior, Florida-room, patio, and renovation choices.

Lake amenities

Clubhouse overlooking a lake and fountain, plus a lake dock for outdoor enjoyment.

Recreation

Heated and cooled pool, bocce, shuffleboard, billiards, card room, library, kitchen, and pool-area Wi-Fi.

Homes in Section 2

Compare bedroom count, position, enclosed space, and updates carefully.

One-bedroom homes can work well for a seasonal resident or simpler full-time living. Two-bedroom homes add guest, office, hobby, and storage flexibility. Corner homes may offer additional windows and different patio exposure.

For a Florida room or enclosed patio, verify permits, recorded living area, air conditioning, windows, hurricane protection, and association approval.

Section 2 amenities

Bocce and the lake dock help distinguish Section 2 from Section 1.

The Section 2 clubhouse overlooks a lake with a fountain and includes gathering space, billiards, card room, bookshelf library, full kitchen, association office, television, and Wi-Fi in the clubhouse and pool area. The pool is heated and cooled and currently listed as open from sunrise to sunset.

Dedicated pickleball and tennis are not currently listed for Section 2. Buyers who require those amenities should compare High Point Sections 5, 6, and 7.

Association due diligence

Section 2 has its own financial and operating responsibilities.

Before purchasing, review the current maintenance fee, inclusions, reserves, assessments, insurance, roof and exterior responsibilities, rental rules, pet rules, parking, buyer approval process, and governing documents. Do not apply another High Point section’s information to Section 2.

Paul's take

Section 2 is a strong fit for buyers who want classic High Point living with a little more neighborhood recreation.

Its clearest combination is villa-style living, lake clubhouse, heated and cooled pool, bocce, shuffleboard, and lake dock. The best actual purchase still depends on the residence, renovation level, systems, location, and current association financial condition.

One-time closing cost

Ask about the capital contribution before you make an offer.

Some associations require a one-time capital contribution or transfer fee at closing. It is separate from the monthly association fee and can apply to a master association, a neighborhood association, or both.

Confirm the current amount, who pays it, when it is due, and whether it is refundable for the exact home. Association requirements can change, so rely on the current written association package before you commit.
