55+ buyer reference
55+ club membership requirements: know the cost structure first.
A dated comparison of mandatory, optional and separate club arrangements. Reviewed August 20, 2026.
A clubhouse is not always a country-club obligation.
Many active-adult communities include recreation through the association fee. A private club can be entirely separate, optional or mandatory. The difference can materially change the up-front and annual ownership cost.
Current comparison
Start with the structure, then compare the lifestyle.
| Community | Membership structure | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Aberdeen Country Club, Boynton Beach | Mandatory for new residents in the applicable western country-club community. | The Club publishes Golf, Tennis and Social membership categories. Confirm current joining fees, dues and transfer requirements directly with the Club. |
| Aberdeen East, Boynton Beach | Not required for Eastern Area owners. | East residents have a separate shared amenity structure. Do not assume the western country-club requirement applies. |
| The Isles at Aberdeen East | Optional. | The Isles HOA states that owners are not required to become Club members, though they may join voluntarily. |
| Boca Delray, Delray Beach | Golf and club options should be confirmed for the specific home. | The community has an executive course and offers membership options. Confirm what is included in the association cost and what is elective. |
Reviewed August 20, 2026. Membership costs and terms can change. Confirm the current obligation with the Club and the association for the exact property.
